Ad, Exhibit and Sponsorship Sales and Management
Calvin Trout is Managing Partner of Calvin D. Trout & Associates,
a sales and marketing firm specializing in ad and tradeshow exhibit
sales representation and management for commercial publishers and
nonprofit associations. Trout has more than thirty years of experience
in publishing, tradeshow sales, and marketing for commercial publishers
and nonprofit associations.
Trout has
managed ad sales for magazines with circulations ranging from 1,500 to
7,500,000 and tradeshows ranging in size from 100 to 2,500 booths.
Areas of expertise include: ad/exhibit/sponsorship sales, sales
marketing/promotion, advertising/magazine research, magazine market
repositioning, and merchandising. Association experience includes
medicine, nursing, hospital management, massage therapy,
broadcast/cable, engineering, insurance, agriculture, and food.
Membership and Affiliations
Trout is recognized as a valued marketing consultant. Trout has been an
active presenter, writer, and membership leader in Association Forum of
Chicagoland, American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Society
of National Association Publications (SNAP), and the Council of
Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE). He has written
numerous articles on sales and marketing topics for association
management magazines and conducted seminars, workshops and training
sessions for the organizations. He is a member of the National
Association of Publishers Representatives (NAPR).

Trout is a recognized sales expert and has won many sales awards
including the Dale Carnegie Highest Sales Award - Sales Talk Champion
Award and Association Forum of Chicagoland's highest association
management award - The Management Achievement Award!
He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees from
Northern Illinois University.
